RECAP: CLEAN UP NEW WEST

WHS' Clean-Up New West 2022 was a huge success. With the help of our clients, alumnae, friends, and community, we were able to collect a whopping 1776.60 pounds of garbage!

The event is Westminster House Society's way of giving back to the community that has nurtured our recovery programs, and the women who graduate from them for over 40 years. We live, recover, work, and play in New Westminster and are proud of our community. It's not just about cleaning up the city but gathering as a community to connect and have fun.
CUNW took place on June 26th in Tipperary Park. The event featured a city-wide clean-up, garbage weigh-in and prizes, live entertainment, and complimentary lunch provided by Rethink Real Estate Group. There were lots of laughs and some very interesting finds during the garbage clean-up. Collection highlights included 2 kitchen sinks, almost 2lbs of cigarettes butts, a car transmission, bathtub, BBQ, couch, tires, and car bed frame just to name a few. We also had a special Task Force assigned to collect sharps and other hazardous materials.
